Derrick S. W.

Derrick S. W. has a wealth of experience in the sports and business sectors. Derrick S. began their career in 2002 as the Principal and Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at DSWAthletes. In 2003, they became the Creative Director at Creative Unique Plans. In 2009, they were an Investment Advisor at New York Life Insurance Company and the President of Winning Solutions Advisory LLC. In 2012, they became the Chief Branding Officer at The GB Companies. In 2014, they were a Partner and Performance Director at Champions Combine. In 2016, they were a Performance Coach at CoachUp. Most recently, in 2019, they have been a Graduate Research Assistant at George Mason University. Additionally, from 2007 to 2012, they were the Director of Marketing, Associate Coach, and Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Troy Eagles Junior Ice Hockey Program.

Derrick S. W. began their educational journey in 1999 when they attended Rice Memorial High School. Derrick S. then attended Bowdoin College from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Government and Legal Studies (American and Urban Politics); Theirtory (European Focus); Education. Afterward, they obtained a Master of Arts - MA degree from the University of Denver in 2017, majoring in Sport Coaching and Science. Currently, Derrick is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree from George Mason University - College of Education and Human Development, specializing in Decision Making and Science Communication in Sports Science and Data Analytics; Kinesiology. Additionally, Derrick has obtained several certifications, including Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, with Distinction (CSCS,*D) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in 2017, Level 3 Ice Hockey Official from USA Hockey in 2011, Level 4 Advanced Coach from USA Hockey in 2007, and First Aid, CPR and AED from the American Red Cross in 2005.
