Derek Hood

Derek Hood is an Engineer In Training at Coanda Research and Development Corporation since July 2018, focusing on the design and execution of experimental programs including benchtop experiments, small-scale piloting, and field testing. Key areas of expertise include stripping experiments, mass transfer modeling, flotation separation, and environmental remediation. Previously, Derek Hood worked as a Researcher at Inline Dewatering Ltd. in 2014, experimenting with Cross Flow Filtration technology on Fluid Fine Tailings. Additionally, Derek Hood gained experience as a co-op student at Natural Resources Canada in 2013, contributing to pilot plant research on accelerated dewatering and deposition monitoring. Derek Hood holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta, obtained in 2018.
