Matt L. has extensive experience in the field of cybersecurity and information security. Matt started their career in 2006 as a Sr. Internet and Security Analyst at COCC, where they were responsible for managing and improving various security infrastructure components. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of an Internet & Security Product Manager, leading the planning and implementation of technical solutions to enhance COCC's managed security services. From 2015 to 2018, Matt served as the Network Security Manager, guiding a team of security professionals and advocating for information security within the organization. Matt then progressed to the role of Assistant Vice President, Information Security, and is currently the Vice President, Cybersecurity Services at COCC. Before joining COCC, Matt worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where they assisted in developing and teaching labs on network security and system administration.
Matt L. has a strong educational background in the field of information technology and computer security. Matt completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Security and Information Assurance from the same institution between 2005 and 2011.
In terms of additional certifications, Matt has obtained several credentials to enhance their professional expertise. These include the GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT) certification from GIAC Certifications, obtained in August 2021. Matt also holds a GMON (Continuous Monitoring and Security Operations) certification from GIAC, obtained in December 2015. Prior to that, Matt earned the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification in February 2013.
Furthermore, Matt has been recognized as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) since October 2009, a credential issued by (ISC)². Additionally, they hold a GSEC certification from GIAC Certifications, obtained in October 2007.
Adding to their educational accomplishments, Matt participated in the Society for Information Management (SIM) Regional Leadership Forum program in 2018. Matt later completed the Executive RLF program offered by the Society for Information Management (SIM) in 2021, focusing on Organizational Leadership.
