Ryan D. G. has extensive work experience in the field of security architecture and engineering. Ryan D. started their career at ESPN in 2011 as a Systems Administrator, Security. In 2011, they joined COCC as a Network Security Architect/Engineer and held this position until 2018. Ryan then advanced to the role of Senior Network Security Architect/Engineer from 2018 to 2019. Ryan D. was promoted to Manager of Security Architecture & Engineering in 2019 and currently holds the position of Assistant Vice President, Security Architecture & Engineering at COCC starting from January 2021.

Ryan D. G. has a strong educational background in Information Technology and Security. In 2001, they earned an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems with a focus on Network Administration from Tunxis Community College. Ryan D. furthered their education by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology - Security from Western Governors University in 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan has also pursued multiple certifications in the field. Ryan D. obtained the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification from (ISC)² in 2015. Ryan D. also holds several certifications from GIAC Certifications, including GCIA (Intrusion Analyst) in 2009, GCED (Enterprise Defender) in 2014, GCIH (Incident Handler) in 2017, GSLC (Security Leadership) in 2021, and GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT) in 2023.

Furthermore, Ryan has achieved numerous certificates from the SANS Technology Institute. These include certifications in areas such as Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling, Continuous Monitoring and Security Operations, Wireless Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, and Defenses, Intrusion Detection In-Depth, SANS®+S™ Training Program for the CISSP®, Defensible Security Architecture, and Security Essentials Bootcamp Style.

Ryan has also acquired certifications in various other areas, such as ITIL v4 Foundations, Project+, CCNA Security, CCNA Routing & Switching, LPIC-1, Linux Network Professional - CLNP, Linux+, SUSE Certified Linux Administrator v11, Systems Support Specialist – CSSS, A+ ce, IT Operations Specialist – CIOS, Network+ ce, and Linux Professional Institute.

Finally, Ryan D. G. completed a training program in Cloud Security Architecture and Operations from the SANS Technology Institute in 2020. Ryan D. also plans to pursue a certificate in Security Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership from the SANS Technology Institute in 2023.
