Alex Stonehouse

Alex Stonehouse has over 20 years of experience in engineering and management roles within the biomedical field. Currently serving as the Director of Manufacturing at Cochlear since December 2008, Alex has also held positions such as Director of Process Engineering Program Management, Senior Manager NPI, and Manager of Sound Processors Mechanical, overseeing teams that focus on the development of advanced sound processing technologies. Additionally, Alex formed the Product Lifecycle Engineering team to maintain the continuity of products in the field. Previous experience includes roles at Ventracor, where responsibilities encompassed investigating field complaints and managing verification and validation processes, and a position as a Student Engineer at Sigra focused on the design and testing of mining tools. Alex holds a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from UNSW.
