Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in manufacturing and engineering leadership. Currently serving as VP Manufacturing at Cochlear since October 2015, Andrew oversees manufacturing and logistics operations in Brisbane. Previous roles at Cochlear include Director of Manufacturing Support and Production Engineering Manager, where support was provided for production operations and engineering services. Prior to Cochlear, Andrew founded a consulting firm, Brick & Compass, offering management consulting services, and held various positions at ABB, including Plant Manager and Engineering & Quality Control Manager. Andrew's career began at Bernafon AG and Enermet, gaining foundational experience in systems engineering and test systems. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics from James Cook University, a Master of Theology from Brisbane College of Theology, and an MBA from Griffith University.
