Matthew Smith

Matthew Smith has extensive experience in the medical device industry, currently serving as Manager of Sound Processors Mechanical at Cochlear since March 2009, contributing to product development from requirements to global regulatory submission. Previously, as Senior Engineer – Mechatronics at CathRx Ltd from 2007 to 2009, Matthew led the design and development of a robotic remote control for diagnostic and ablation cardiac catheters. From 1990 to 2008, Matthew worked as a Senior Engineer on various medical device projects in the UK and Australia, including notable roles at Penlon Ltd, where Matthew designed and managed the development of critical anaesthesia machines and ventilators, leading to the receipt of the Queens Award for Innovation for the Sigma vapouriser.
