Sarah Thom is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Group Finance at Cochlear, a position held since November 2024. Additionally, Sarah serves as a Board Member for the Children's Medical Research Institute starting in November 2023. Prior to these roles, Sarah was a Managing Director and Partner at the Boston Consulting Group from February 2012 to November 2024, specializing in health care, strategy, transformation, and investment. Sarah also held the position of Board Observer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in 2017 as part of the Observership Program. In the earlier part of Sarah's career, valuable research was conducted as a National Science Foundation Astronomy & Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2008 to 2011, focusing on galaxy cluster science and galaxy evolution. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Chicago and a BS in Physics from the University of Michigan.
