Tom van Assche

Tom Van Assche is an accomplished technology leader with over two decades of experience at Cochlear, currently serving as Vice President of Hardware Platform Development and Chief Architect since February 2002. Tom's responsibilities include managing the Hardware platform department and chairing product and systems architecture definitions. Previous roles at Cochlear include Director of Technology Platform Development and Senior Manager of Technology Platform Development, where Tom established systems architecture leadership and ensured high-quality project delivery. Tom has also contributed as a project manager and team leader in ASIC development, fostering team capabilities and overseeing integrated circuit technology solutions. Additionally, Tom is a board member at DSP Valley and previously worked as an Electronic Engineer at Xeikon. Tom holds degrees in Industrial Engineering Electronics and has pursued advanced education in team leadership at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia Business School.
