Celia La is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and community organization. Currently serving as a Member of Technical Staff at Cockroach Labs since October 2018, Celia La has also held significant roles in various organizations, such as Board Member and Conference Organizer at Big Apple Py, advancing the Python open-source community. Previous positions include Senior Engineering Manager and Software Engineer at Khan Academy, contributing to its mission of accessible education, as well as Founding Organizer and Board Member at Write/Speak/Code, promoting visibility for women and non-binary coders. Celia La has held engineering roles at Knewton and MediaRadar, and served as Technical Co-Chair for the US National Committee for UN Women. With a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a background in music as a jazz musician, band leader, and composer, Celia La combines diverse skills and passions in both technology and the arts.
