Bin Ren has a diverse work history encompassing roles in academia, research, and industry. They began their career as a PhD student at The Ohio State University in 2008 and completed their doctoral studies in 2014. During this time, they also served as a Summer Research Intern at NEC Laboratories America, Inc. in 2013 and gained additional research experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from 2014 to 2016.
In 2016, Bin joined William & Mary as an Assistant Professor and later advanced to the position of Associate Professor in August 2022. Alongside their academic role, Bin co-founded and served as a Co-Founder of CoCoPIE Inc. starting in August 2020. They held this position until August 2022.
Bin has also undertaken various research internships, including one at Microsoft in 2011. Overall, their work experience showcases a strong foundation in academia and research, complemented by their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Bin Ren has a strong educational background in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. Bin obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software Engineering from Beihang University from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued their Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering at Beihang University from 2006 to 2008. Lastly, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University from 2008 to 2014.
