Cory Chobanik

Cory Chobanik serves as the Senior Director of the Centre for Statistical and Data Standards at Statistics Canada, where responsibilities include providing client-centric support and overseeing the development of statistical standards. Previous roles at Statistics Canada include Assistant Director for the Office of Privacy Management and Information Coordination. Chobanik actively contributes to the Data Documentation Initiative as a Manager and Executive Board member, and is a member of the Canadian National Committee for CODATA, supporting the Canadian research community. Additionally, Chobanik holds a position on the Steering Committee for Supporting Standards at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, focusing on enhancing statistical modernization. Engagement with the Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange as a Statistical Working Group member further complements expertise in standardizing statistical data exchange. Chobanik co-founded Nonlinear Engineering Inc. and possesses an MBA from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina.
