Leo Lahti

Leo Lahti is an accomplished academic and professional in the fields of data science and machine learning. Currently serving as an Executive Committee Member at CODATA since October 2023, Lahti holds a Professor and Principal Investigator role at the University of Turku, leading the Turku Data Science Group since September 2016. Additionally, Lahti is an Associate Professor within the Bioconductor Advisory Board and is actively involved with Open Knowledge Finland and Turku City Data Oy as a Board Member. With a background as a Scientific Advisor at Blueprint Genetics, Lahti focuses on machine learning and AI, while also engaging in computational modeling of human-associated microbial ecosystems as an Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Wageningen University. Lahti's educational credentials include a Doctor of Science in Technology from Aalto University and a Master's in Technology from Teknillinen korkeakoulu, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences from the University of Helsinki.
