Mercè Crosas

Merce Crosas currently serves as the President of CODATA since November 2023 and the Director of the Computational Social Sciences and Humanities Lab at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center since March 2023. Previously, Merce Crosas held the position of Secretària de Govern Obert at Generalitat de Catalunya from June 2021 to March 2023. A long-standing affiliation with Harvard University included roles as Research Data Management Officer, Chief Data Science and Technology Officer, and Director of Data Science at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science from October 2004 to March 2023. Additional experience includes leadership roles at Cantata Pharmaceuticals, Cereon Genomics, WebCT, and the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Rice University, along with Bachelor's and fellowship credentials from Universitat de Barcelona and Harvard University.
