Samantha Brown has been working in the field of research and development since 2010, beginning with their role as a freelance tutor for 7th and 8th grade students in STEM topics. In 2012, they worked as a research assistant for the Anesthesiology Department at Christiana Care Health System, followed by a volunteer research assistant role at Drexel University's Department of Chemistry. From 2013-2015, they held three co-op positions at Janssen Inc., where they developed pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics assays, optimized PD "free target" assays, and developed and validated neutralizing antibody assays. In 2016, they became a PhD candidate in the Brody lab at Thomas Jefferson University, where they also served as a biochemistry journal club instructor. In 2021, they began working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Oregon Health & Science University, where they are developing and implementing experiments on pancreatic cancer research. Samantha is also the lead researcher for the Type I Diabetes (T1D) program at Code Biotherapeutics, where they are focused on developing multiple pipelines to address restoration of blood glucose levels.

Samantha Brown began their education in 2007, when they earned their High School Diploma from Unionville High School with High Honors. Samantha then attended Drexel University from 2011 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences; Cells/Genetics/Molecular/Biochemistry. In 2016, they began pursuing their Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, which they completed in 2021. In October 2020, they also obtained a Science Communication certification from Thomas Jefferson University.
