Matt Clifford is the co-founder of Entrepreneurs First, having built one of the world's leading talent investment firms, which has supported the creation of startups now valued at over $11 billion. Currently serving as Chair of the Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA), they also advise the UK Government on AI policy and strategy. In 2023, Matt was appointed the Prime Minister's Representative for the AI Safety Summit, leading the UK's preparations for this key event. They were awarded an MBE in 2016 and a CBE in 2024 for contributions to business and artificial intelligence, respectively.
