Brittany Bir is an advisor at Code For Fun, a startup mentor at sFoundation, and the former Chief Operating Officer of 42 Silicon Valley.
A native of France, Brittany Bir first came to the United States to work as a legal and technical translator. In 2016, they were recruited by Xavier Niel—the French business magnate often referred to as the “French Bill Gates”—to help launch their innovative coding school, 42 Silicon Valley.
As the school’s Chief Operating Officer, Brittany oversaw a $4 million annual operational budget and was responsible for securing two international franchises and facilitating collaboration with five others. Brittany also represented 42 Silicon Valley in the media and at professional and international conferences, such as Reimagine Education and Plan Ceibal in Uruguay.
In 2018, Brittany left 42 Silicon Valley to pursue their passion for mentoring startups. Brittany joined sFoundation, a organization dedicated to helping anyone—regardless of their background—start a technology-related company. As a mentor, Brittany meets weekly with assigned startup executives to discuss a range of issues, including strategy, business model development, value proposition creation, marketing, and growth planning.
Brittany Bir has a Master’s Degree in European Studies with a specialty in Economics: Theirtory, Political Science, Law and Economy of the EU from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle. Brittany also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature with a Minor in Global Studies from California State University, Monterey Bay. Brittany has WSET 4 Diploma 2 - Wine Business certification from WSET — Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
