Application Scientist at Code Ocean

Alicia Liu is a Solutions Scientist at Code Ocean. Alicia previously worked as a Study Manager II, Next-Generation Sequencing at GENEWIZ from December 2018 to May 2021. Alicia provided technical consultation, project management, internal and external updates, status reports, post-sale technical support, and field application support. Alicia also managed entire project workflows between multiple teams, identified issues, and took necessary steps to resolve challenges and ensure timelines are met.

Alicia was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut from August 2012 to December 2018. Alicia worked with Dr. Michael J. O'Neill, Ph.D. on using chromosome conformation capture and high-throughput sequencing on a mouse model of Turner Syndrome to investigate differences in nuclear organization of an X-linked imprinted locus and its effect on cognitive impairment. Alicia also integrated 4C-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and ATAC-Seq datasets to identify chromosome-wide differences between the maternal and paternal X-chromosomes. Lastly, they collaborated with Murine Behavioral Neurogenetics Facility (MBNF) to use mouse models of autism to study the influence of X-linked genomic imprinting on neural cognition and social behaviors.

Alicia Liu received a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Biology from the University of Delaware and a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut.

Alicia Liu reports to Erez Giladi, Head of R&D. Alicia Liu works with Vaishnavi Srinivasan - Computational Biologist, Vincent Zheng - Data Analyst, and Emily So - Bioinformatics Scientist.
