Anthony Owen, JD, currently serves as the Senior Director of State Government Affairs at Code.org, focusing on advocacy for computer science education nationally since July 2022. Prior to this, Anthony held various roles within the Arkansas Department of Education, including State Director of Computer Science from 2015 to 2022, where responsibilities included implementing the governor's vision for computer science education in Arkansas. Anthony's extensive experience also includes positions as a Secondary Math Specialist and math teacher at various educational institutions, along with co-ownership of AAMLO Firearms. Educated at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where Anthony obtained a Doctor of Law (JD), and Henderson State University, where Anthony earned both a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a double minor in Computer Science and Education, Anthony combines a strong educational background with a commitment to advancing STEM initiatives.
