Derek Babb

Derek Babb is an experienced educator specializing in computer science and cyber security. Currently serving as a Cyber Security Instructor and Adjunct Instructor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since August 2016, Derek teaches CSCI 1200 - Computer Science Principles and CSCI 1620 - Intro to Computer Science II. In addition, as a CSP Facilitator for Code.org since June 2018, Derek supports the Computer Science Principles curriculum. Previous roles include Computer Science Teacher at Omaha Public Schools and Bellevue Public Schools, where courses taught included AP Computer Science and Cyber Security. Derek's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, a Master's degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
