Katie Hendrickson

Chief of Staff at Code.org

Katie Hendrickson is the current Chief of Staff at Code.org. Prior to their current position, they served as an Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow hosted by the National Science Foundation in the Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering from September 2014 to June 2015. Katie has also been an Instructor at Ohio University from August 2008 to May 2014 where they taught a variety of education, mathematics, and mathematics education courses. Furthermore, Katie has been a Teacher at Athens Middle School from August 2010 to August 2014 where they taught 7th and 8th grade mathematics courses, including basic math, pre-algebra, honors pre-algebra, and honors algebra. Katie has received numerous awards for their work in education, including the Buck Martin Secondary State Award (Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics, 2013), the Southeast District Award for Outstanding Secondary Classroom Teacher (Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics, 2012), and the Mabel Olsen Bell Award for Outstanding Mentor Teachers (The Patton College of Education, Ohio University, 2014).

Katie Hendrickson first attended New York University, where they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Mathematics Education. Katie then went on to complete their Master of Education degree in Cultural Studies in Education at Ohio University, followed by their Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics Education at the same school.

Their manager is Cameron Wilson, President. They work with Sean Roberts - VP, State Government Affairs, Catherine Case Soskin - Employee Experience Manager, and Min Yoo - Director, Marketing & Communications.
