Hal Baird is a seasoned Patent Attorney with extensive experience in intellectual property matters, particularly related to information technology and software arts. Currently practicing at Pate, Nelson & Hill and Pate Baird, PLLC since 2000, Hal specializes in patent litigation, application preparation, trademarks, and copyrights. In addition to legal expertise, Hal serves as a Full Stack Software Engineer for Code Platoon, aiding veterans in transitioning to civilian careers through software development training. Hal’s professional background includes roles in the US Army as Deputy Command Counsel and Military Personnel Law Attorney, along with a strong educational foundation, including a Juris Doctorate in Intellectual Property from BYU Law School and ongoing studies toward a Master of Science in Computer Engineering at Syracuse University.
