James Gamette is an Autonomous Race Engineer at Code19 Racing, currently focused on localization and controls for an autonomous racing car. They earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and previously obtained a degree in Applied Physics from Biola University, where they also minored in Theology. James has held various teaching assistant positions at UC Davis, guiding students in measurement systems and engineering graphics, and served as the EcoCAR Connected Autonomous Vehicles Graduate Lead Engineer. An accomplished swimmer, they are an alumnus of the NCAA DII swimming team at Biola University.
