James Stapleton

Co-Founder at Codefi Works

James Stapleton is the Co-Founder of Codefi Works. Prior to Codefi, James was an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Southeast Missouri State University from August 2006 to August 2016. In their role as Associate Professor, James taught Principles of Entrepreneurship, Managing and Growing New Ventures, Business Planning and Strategy for New Ventures, Topics in Entrepreneurship, and a graduate-level Entrepreneurship course. Their primary research interests included establishment dynamics, entrepreneurship teaching and capacity building, group dynamics, and online education.

James has authored articles in various refereed publications including Delta Pi Epsilon journal, National Association of Business Teacher Educator’s Journal, and the Human Systems Management journal. James received the Best Research Paper award twice at the National Business Education Research Conference. James served as the Editor of the National Association of Business Teacher Educator’s Journal in 2009-2010 and is a member of the National Publications Committee of the National Business Education Association.

James is a member of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, National Business Education Association, and Delta Pi Epsilon.

James Stapleton completed a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. James also holds an MBA in Business from Southern New Hampshire University and an MS in Business Education from the same school. Their undergraduate degree is in Organizational Management and Leadership from Friends University.
