Spike Curtis

Spike Curtis has an extensive work history in various technical roles. Spike is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Coder since May 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Deep Learning at Lodestar from April 2020 to April 2022. Spike also served as a Senior Software Engineer at Tigera, Inc. from June 2017 to April 2020. Before that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Rigetti Computing from January 2016 to June 2017. Spike was also a Core Developer and Evangelist at Project Calico from January 2015 to January 2016. Spike Curtis has experience in network technologies as a Senior Software Developer at Metaswitch Networks from September 2013 to January 2016, and as a Software Developer from March 2010 to April 2012. Prior to their career in industry, they pursued a PhD at the University of Oxford in Atomic & Laser Physics from October 2006 to March 2010, during which they also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant providing tutorials and teaching foundational and advanced topics in physics. Additionally, they have gained experience as a Technical Intern at Rockwell Collins in 2006.

Spike Curtis obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering between 2002 and 2006. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Atomic & Laser Physics at the University of Oxford from 2006 to 2009.
