Tomás Veiga

Tomás Veiga is a skilled professional in bioengineering and biomedical engineering, holding a Master's degree from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto and a PhD from the University of Leeds. Veiga's experience includes a summer internship at the University of Macau's Biomedical Engineering Lab focusing on ultrasound diagnosis, and a full-time internship at Kungliga tekniska högskolan, where research involved tracking the human body to predict injuries in boxing videos. As a postgraduate researcher at the University of Leeds, Veiga specialized in surgical robotics, developing magnetically actuated soft robots for minimally invasive surgery and localization algorithms. Additionally, a notable project at The University of Manchester involved creating a temperature-sensing insole for early detection of diabetic ulceration.
