Dr. Michael Hume

Dr. Michael Hume is the Head of Strategy and Research at MKP Capital Management, a role they have held since 2016 while also serving as a Partner and Member of the Investment Committee. Prior to their current position, they worked at the Bank of England from 2008 to 2016 as the Head of the Capital Markets Division and as a Monetary Policy Adviser. They began their career at Lehman Brothers, where they held various economist positions from 1997 to 2008. Dr. Hume holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick, and a PhD in Economic and Monetary Union in Europe from the London School of Economics.
