David Elgart

David Elgart is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in enzyme research and development, currently serving as Scientist III / Senior Scientist I at Codexis, Inc. since December 2006. At Codexis, Elgart has specialized in high-throughput (HTP) assay development for enzyme libraries and analytical method development utilizing HPLC, GC, and various spectrometers. Previous roles included optimizing saccharification conditions for biofuel production and characterizing cellulases for evolutionary improvements. Earlier experience includes temp work at Exelixis focused on protein purification and a research assistant position at Genencor International, where enzymatic performance assays were developed for biomass conversion. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Biochemistry from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a focus on Cell and Molecular biology from the University of California, Riverside.
