Michael Kuchinskas

Michael Kuchinskas is the VP of Protein Engineering at Codexis, Inc., where they are currently leading innovative protein engineering projects. They previously served as the Head of Protein Engineering at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., managing enzyme discovery capabilities and overseeing key accounts. Michael's extensive experience includes roles as a Senior Research Scientist at Genomatica, where they developed high throughput screening platforms and contributed to significant patents. They earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Irvine and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California at San Diego, focusing on novel binding partners and structural studies of proteins.
