In 1995 Dr. Muchmore founded CodoniX, Inc., a medical software company that develops and distributes applications that capture clinical data from the physician-patient encounter. After graduating with honors in Biology from Stanford University, Dr. Muchmore earned an MD degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was awarded the Medical Society Research Prize and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honorary society. Dr. Muchmore completed an internship and residency at the UCLA hospital and was awarded the Upjohn Achievement Award as the outstanding resident. An author of more than 85 peer-reviewed articles on health care and biotechnology, he headed a laboratory at the National Cancer Institute for 15 years before joining Capital Emergency Associates, an emergency medicine physician staffing company with seven hospital contracts responsible for more than 250,000 emergency visits per year. As a full partner and a member of the management board, Dr. Muchmore was responsible for a top-to-bottom audit and review of charting and billing practices. The results of that study led to the founding of CodoniX.
