CoEfficient Building Science is a Canadian building science consulting and testing firm founded in 2010 and based in Nanaimo, BC. We specialize in advanced air leakage testing, energy advising, thermal imaging, energy modelling, and building envelope performance for residential and commercial projects across Canada.

What sets us apart is both depth and range. Our principal holds a Master of Building Science with award-winning research in passive design — one of very few practitioners in the Part 9 space with that academic background. Our air leakage testing capability is among the most advanced in the country, including multi-fan, whole-building tests for complex Part 3 buildings and attached housing that most firms cannot perform. And with thousands of existing home evaluations behind us, we bring practical real-world insight that goes beyond what modelling alone can offer.

We work across BC, multiple provinces, northern and remote communities, and with Indigenous Nations including the Heiltsuk and 'Namgis Nations — bringing building science expertise to projects and places that are often underserved.
