Coega Steels, established in 2014, is a leading South African steel-billets manufacturer and the first and only steel-melting unit in the Eastern Cape province.

The company is committed to producing premium steel products through innovative and sustainable processes. Its billets, produced from high-quality ferrous scrap at its state-of-the-art mini-mill in Gqeberha, are the product of choice for 75 rolling mills locally and internationally.

Its team of 600 employees is projected to grow to over 800 in 2026 through strategic forward integration. Looking further ahead, the workforce is expected to expand to approximately 900 staffers as it expands into finished-product manufacturing for the domestic market.
