Brian Scanlon has a diverse work experience in various fields. Brian currently works at COFENSE as a Senior Information Security Program Manager, where they develop tailored anti-phishing programs for clients across the Federal Government and provides consulting services to identify areas of susceptibility and implement successful training programs. Prior to that, Brian was the Multi-Club Owner of Anytime Fitness franchises, responsible for managing fitness centers and providing training services. Brian also worked at General Dynamics Information Technology as an Incident Responder & Team Lead, where they monitored and responded to network security issues. Brian served as an S2 All Source Intelligence Officer in the Army National Guard, where they were responsible for integrating intelligence into military decision-making. Additionally, they worked as a Watch Officer at Operational Intelligence, LLC, supporting the Mission Services Operations Center. Brian has also held roles as a Knowledge Manager at A-T Solutions Inc. and as an IT Portfolio/Interoperability Analyst at Zel Technologies, LLC. Brian began their career as a Defense/Research Analyst at ANSER Corporation, supporting exercise programs for the National Guard.
Brian Scanlon attended James Madison University from 2000 to 2004, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Science & Technology (ISAT). In addition to their undergraduate education, Brian has obtained several certifications. In September 2014, they became a Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) through EC-Council and also earned the Security+ certification from CompTIA. Later, in December 2016, Brian obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler certification from GIAC.
