James Hickey

James Hickey has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. James began their career working as an EDS Infrastructure Engineer, where they gained experience in NT4 environments and infrastructure design documentation for clients such as Inland Revenue and Employment Service. James then progressed to become an EDS Infrastructure Specialist and later an Infrastructure Architect, working on the Ministry of Defense's DII/F program.

In 1998, James joined HP Software as a BTO Pre-Sales Consultant, responsible for requirements gathering, solution architecture, and overall ownership of the pre-sales process. James continued to grow within the company and became a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant, specializing in the Business Technology Optimization (BTO) portfolio of software.

After their successful tenure at HP Software, James transitioned to FireScope in 2010. James served as an Investor and Technical Director for EMEA, contributing to the development and delivery of highly integrated, SaaS-based service monitoring and business impact analysis solutions.

Currently, James is employed at Cofense, where they have held multiple roles since 2016. James started as an Account Manager for PhishMe®, a provider of phishing mitigation and detection solutions. Over time, they progressed to become a Sales Engineer and later a Senior Sales Engineer, focusing on the European market. Their most recent role is Director of Sales Engineering - Europe.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated expertise in sales engineering, pre-sales consulting, infrastructure architecture, and technical leadership. Their experience spans various industries and has equipped him with a strong understanding of cybersecurity, IT service management, and business impact analysis.

James Hickey's education history includes attending Cranfield University from 1995 to 1998. During their time at the university, they pursued a degree in Information Systems Management, with a focus on Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Studies, and Economics. Additionally, in 2021, they completed a program called "Great Demo!" but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study from this program.
