Joel Gomez

Joel Gomez has a strong background in cyber security, with experience in various roles and organizations. Joel began their career in 2011 as an HBSS Administrator for the US Army, where they focused on vulnerability analysis and maintaining security systems. In 2012, they transitioned to the role of Incident Response/Handler, serving as the initial point of contact for reported incidents and conducting investigations. Joel then went on to work as a Cyber Security Analyst for the US Army, where they implemented security standards and programs. In 2017, they joined Leidos as a Cyber Security Engineer, performing vulnerability assessments and monitoring network traffic. Currently, Joel is employed as an Intelligence Solutions Engineer at COFENSE, where they utilize their expertise to develop advanced threat intelligence solutions.

Joel Gomez completed their Associate's degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication at Broward College from 2007 to 2011. Joel then pursued further education and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Florida International University from 2012 to 2017. In addition to their degrees, Joel also obtained certifications in CompTIA A+ in May 2013 and CompTIA Security+ in January 2011.
