Max Gannon has a strong background in cyber threat intelligence analysis. Max started their career at PhishMe, Inc. in 2016 as an Associate Intelligence Analyst, where they worked on fast-paced analysis of malware families and produced multiple malware analysis reports. Max then joined The University of Alabama at Birmingham as a Student Research Assistant, where they contributed to the development of accessibility adaptations for Microsoft and Nintendo products. Max later worked as a Student Assistant at the Center for Information Assurance and Joint Forensic Research, conducting research on Kelihos spam and developing methods to find encryption keys and network communications. Max returned to PhishMe, Inc. in 2017 as an Intelligence Analyst, producing context-rich analyses on phishing campaigns and conducting in-depth strategic assessments. In 2019, they joined COFENSE as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, where they produced tactical and strategic intelligence on phishing activity and served as a mentor for junior analysts. Max is experienced in conducting open source and closed source research, leveraging malware analysis platforms, and delivering IOCs of emerging phishing campaigns.
