Michael Latta began their career in 1979 as a Programmer at Leeds & Northrup. In 1982, they moved to General Electric as a Programmer. In 1986, they founded Ascent Logic, a startup focused on the systems engineering market. Michael created the product and generated initial sales within the first 6 months and released a major update within the first year. In 1988, they became the CIO of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, where they lead the IT department and supported the business planning efforts, a transition from a custom to a packaged accounting solution, and rehosting of their custom reservation systems on updated hardware. In 1994, they began freelance consulting in Smalltalk and NeXTStep, and developed the Ohana framework for model based systems, which was later sold to Cogility Software. In 1999, they joined KPMG Consulting as a Senior Manager and built and sold a telecom integration and automation platform providing complete self-service and provisioning for VPN and DSL circuit creation, monitoring, error reporting and billing. In 2000, they became the Chief Technology Officer at Cogility Software, where they built a unique process orchestration, integration, and complex event processing platform. In 2007, they joined TechnoMage as a Software Wizard.
Michael Latta attended California State University-Sacramento from 1975 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the School of Engineering.
