Mel Thorne

Mel Thorne began their work experience in 2011 as a Software Group Pricing Coop at IBM. In 2012, they interned at IBM as a Global Business Services - Financial Analyst, where they created a process for presenting price quotes and developed projection models. From 2013 to 2015, Mel worked as a Global Business Services Financial Analyst at IBM. Since 2015, Mel has been working at Cognex Corporation, starting as a Financial Analyst, then moving up to Senior Financial Analyst and currently serving as the Principal Financial Analyst.

Mel Thorne completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Connecticut in 2012. They also attended Central Connecticut State University in 2008 and completed coursework in Accounting. In 2017, Mel Thorne enrolled in the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. They completed their MBA program in 2021.
