Ryan McDermott

Ryan McDermott is an experienced mechanical engineering professional currently serving as the Manager of Mechanical Engineering at Cognex Corporation, where responsibilities include managing the Manufacturing Test Engineering team and designing testing systems for Cognex products. Previously, Ryan held roles at Cognex as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Team Lead, where Ryan led a team of engineers, managed project documentation, and coordinated with various teams on design and budget requirements. Prior to Cognex, Ryan worked as a Mechanical/Production Engineer at Daily Thermetrics, focusing on high-temperature sensor technology, and as a Research Assistant at MIT EGS Lab, conducting experiments related to wellbore servicing optimization. Ryan also has experience in education, having taught mathematics for SAT preparation. Ryan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
