Trygve U. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Trygve started their career at the Norwegian Red Cross as a Youth Delegate from August 2007 to August 2008. Trygve then joined Adigo AS as a Robotics Group Lead from August 2011 to December 2017. At the same time, in July 2015, they also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Google, specifically on the Google Tango 6-DOF team. In January 2012, Trygve U. joined NTNU as an Industry PhD Candidate and continued in this role until August 2018. Trygve then joined Google as a Systems Integration Engineer in December 2017, where they worked on scaling the ARCore framework in the Daydream team until September 2019. Moving to their current role, Trygve U. joined Cognite in September 2019 as a Principal Engineer. Trygve subsequently held the role of Team Lead Disruptive MVP from January 2020 to June 2023. Currently, Trygve U. holds the position of AI & 3D - Lead Engineering Manager at Cognite starting from May 2023.

Trygve U. began their education in 2004 at Pacific Lutheran University, where they studied Computer Science, Macro Economics, and Design. In 2005, they attended the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB), focusing on Mathematics and Thermodynamics. During the same year, they also enrolled at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Cybernetics from 2005 to 2011. In 2010, Trygve briefly attended EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), specializing in Microtechnique, Laparoscopic Surgery, and Robotics. From 2012 to 2018, they continued their studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering Cybernetics. Additionally, in 2015, Trygve had a short stint at the University of Minnesota, focusing on Visual Inertial Navigation.
