Jay Alammar

Jay Alammar has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Jay started their career as an Investment Principal at TAQNIA in 2017 and later worked as a Deep Learning / Machine Learning Content Developer at Udacity from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, they became a Partner at STV until 2020.

From 2019 to 2020, Jay served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Unifonic Inc, MRSOOL | مرسول, and Telfaz11.

In 2020, they joined Arpeggio as a Machine Learning R&D specialist until 2021.

Since 2015, Jay has been working independently through their website jalammar.github.io, where they conduct machine learning R&D, blogs and provides visual, highly-intuitive presentations on various machine learning topics.

In 2021, they became a Partner Machine Learning Engineer at Cohere and later transitioned to the role of Director, Engineering Fellow (NLP) in 2022.

Starting from 2022, they also serve as an Advisor and Venture Partner at Outliers Venture Capital.

Jay Alammar completed the Executive Education program in Influence and Negotiation Strategies at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Prior to that, in 2017, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business for the Venture Capital Executive Program.

In 2006, Jay obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Kansas. Additionally, in 2008, they received training in User Experience & User Interface Design at the Nielsen Norman Group through their Usability Week Training program.
