Simon Tam

Simon Tam has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry, starting in 2005 as an Actuarial Analyst intern at Global Re. Simon then worked as an Actuarial Analyst intern at Intact in 2006. Simon joined Aviva Canada in 2007 as an Actuarial Specialist and stayed with the company until 2012. From 2012 to 2015, Simon worked as the Manager of Actuarial Services at CAA South Central Ontario. Simon then joined EY as the Manager of Insurance Risk and Actuarial Services for the EMEIA region from 2015 to 2017. Simon worked as a Pricing and Analytics Manager at QBE Insurance from 2017 to 2020. Currently, they are employed at Coherent as a Product Manager and Actuarial Director since October 2020.

Simon Tam received their Bachelor of Mathematics degree with an Honours Actuarial Science/Finance Option from the University of Waterloo between 2002 and 2007. Simon has also obtained certifications as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
