Jun Ni

Professor Ni is a Chaired Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Director of the S.M. Wu Manufacturing Research Center, and also serves as the Dean of the Joint Institute between Michigan and Jiao Tong University. In addition, he is Co-Director of the Multi-Campus National Science Foundation Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems, a Deputy Director of the NSF-Engineering Research Center for Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems, a Collegiate Professor for the S.M. Wu Center for Manufacturing Science.

Dr. Ni holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin plus a B.S. in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research interests include: manufacturing process modeling, analysis and prediction, precision engineering and metrology, cutting tool development, quality control methods, intelligent maintenance systems, and fault monitoring and diagnosis.
