David Payne

David Payne is currently the Associate General Counsel for Security at Coinbase, where they leverage over a decade of experience in infrastructure, blockchain, and mid-to-late-stage startups. They are also a Founding Member of the Cyber Counsel Group, a non-profit professional association focused on empowering in-house cybersecurity. Previously, David served as Assistant General Counsel for Privacy & Security at Afiniti and held various leadership roles at Afilias, including Vice President of Compliance. Their academic background includes a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a BA from Brigham Young University.
