John Powers

John Powers is a legal professional with extensive experience in commercial and corporate law. Currently serving as Senior Counsel for Commercial at Coinbase since September 2025, John previously held positions at DigitalOcean, where roles included Associate General Counsel and Senior Counsel for Commercial Contracts. Prior experience at Thomson Reuters involved serving as Corporate Counsel focused on customer and commercial matters. John began a legal career at Ryan as a Contract Negotiator and gained early experience in legal internships with Texas Stars Hockey Club and The University of Texas School of Law.
