Peter Elkins

Peter Elkins serves as the Director and Head of Exchange Compliance and Market Surveillance at Coinbase, a position held since June 2018, where responsibilities encompass exchange market health, customer and employee trade surveillance, equity surveillance, and product advisory. Prior to Coinbase, Peter was the Head of Market Watch, Stock Watch, and Proxy Compliance at Intercontinental Exchange from January 2015 to June 2018, overseeing regulatory trading halts for NYSE listed securities. Peter's career began as a Specialist at LaBranche & Co. from February 2002 to January 2010, followed by a role as a Designated Market Maker/Specialist at Barclays Investment Bank from January 2010 to December 2014. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder and has also attended Murdoch University.
