Derek Mathewson

Derek Mathewson has been working in the tech industry since 2014. Derek began their career at Evolution Engineering as a Field Laboratory Technician, where they primarily built and restored directional drilling tools to operational standards, implemented a QC system for the electrical calibrations and testing of the directional tools, and assisted with training of clients using the directional drilling tools. In 2017, they took on a Co-op research assistant role at Beihang University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In 2018, they were a Full-stack Developer and President and Co-founder at Sonadus Inc. After that, they were a Full-stack Developer at CAWST and a Product Manager at CoClean in 2019. Derek is currently a Senior Product Manager at Cold Bore Technology.

Derek Mathewson's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Victoria from 2015 to 2018, an Electronic Engineering Technologist from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 2012 to 2014, and an Internation masters of Engineering Management from Tsinghua University from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, Derek has obtained certifications from Udemy, including Advanced Product Management: Vision, Strategy, Metrics in June 2021, Become a Product Manager in May 2021, and Understanding TypeScript in July 2019.
