Mark Ashby

Mark Ashby has a diverse and extensive career in retail management and logistics. Starting as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the RAF from November 1986 to April 2001, Mark excelled as a Mechanical Transport Driver, ultimately overseeing cargo handling and operations across Europe and the UK. Following this, a transition to Lidl UK as a Store Manager from April 2001 to April 2005 involved managing multi-million-pound stores in the West Midlands, focusing on staff training, inventory control, and operational efficiency. Mark then served as Senior District Manager at The Midcounties Co-operative from April 2005 to October 2016, where responsibilities included maximizing sales and managing various business performance metrics. Currently, Mark is the Caretaking Regional Manager for Coles Supermarkets, having previously managed a significant $50m annual store with a team of 140, demonstrating leadership in delivering strong performance in a vibrant workplace culture. Mark's education includes time at Wooton Bassett Lime Kiln in Swindon and Holbrook High in Ipswich.
