Joe Steele

Joe Steele, PhD, is a Senior Principal Scientist at Colgate-Palmolive, where they enhance global gum health through biomaterials, active delivery, and therapeutic formulation. As a founding member of the Biomaterials and Advanced Delivery Division, Joe leads interdisciplinary efforts to innovate products for oral health using their extensive experience in materials science and biomedical engineering. Previously, they held roles as the Additive Manufacturing and Materials Science division lead at the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials and as a postdoctoral associate at the Karolinska Institute, where they focused on tissue regeneration and additive manufacturing technologies. Joe earned a PhD in Materials Engineering and Bioengineering from Imperial College London, where they developed an osteochondral scaffold through large animal trials. Their research expertise spans encapsulation, neural regeneration, and advanced manufacturing methodologies.
