John Vicente

John Vicente is Senior Vice President, Platforms of Collaborative Systems Integration, and Co-chair of the Technology Working Group of the Open Process Automation Forum. Previously, John was the Chief Technology Officer at Stratus Technologies. He also led Intel’s Industrial IoT CTO Office where he was responsible for strategy, architectural definition, and roadmaps for the Industrial IoT Software-defined Industrial Systems strategic initiative for industrial edge computing. John has 25 years of experience with Intel. He has contributed to both the consumption side (enterprise IT) of technology and the delivery side (R&D) of products and services, and his academic and industrial experience encompasses the predominant disruptions over the past 35 years in computing and Internet systems.

John earned a Ph.D. (E.E.) from Columbia University, an M.S. (E.C.E.) from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. (E.C.E) from Northwestern University. He has served on the University of California – Davis Computer Science Board of Advisors. John is co-inventor on 29 patents and has published 40+ peer-reviewed journal articles
